Hörður Arnarson, the outgoing chief executive of Landsvirkjun, says he did not have sufficient trust from the company’s board, mbl.is reports. He left the company in early October after about 17 years as chief executive.
Arnarson made the remarks in an interview with RÚV’s Kastljós programme. He said the board’s trust was important when he negotiated complex business agreements with large international companies and spoke with Landsvirkjun’s stakeholders, including the public, customers, contractors and environmental organisations.
“When people carry this much responsibility, there needs to be a great deal of trust between the finance minister, the board and the chief executive,” Arnarson said.
