KVF reports that the newly appointed Ethics Council will monitor whether people across the country receive equal health and care services, its new chair, Katrin Kallsberg, says.

Kallsberg says the council has not yet had time to set its priorities. Under the law, it must focus primarily on ethical questions linked to professional activity in the health and social sectors and in municipalities. It must also follow developments in society and may take up ethical issues on its own initiative.

Kallsberg said artificial intelligence and screen use are among the issues she expects to feature prominently in public debate and on the council’s agenda.
