A Swedish passenger missed his flight to China after waiting for an hour and a half in the fast-track queue at Copenhagen Airport, DR reported. Matz Edvall said he had spent 50,000 to 60,000 kroner on his ticket and was now trying to find out whether he could get his money back.

Thousands of passengers were stuck in long queues after new security-check requirements suddenly took effect. The wait for security screening had fallen from more than 45 minutes to between 19 and 22 minutes, but that came too late for Edvall, whose flight had already departed.

“It’s awful that even fast track doesn’t work,” he said. Edvall, a global key account manager for a large chemical company, said he would need to buy a new ticket to travel to China.

He said he understood the consequences of travelling as much as he does, but questioned why the airport had not brought in more staff. Neither the airport nor the authorities would explain why the extraordinary security measures had been introduced.
