A court in Helsingør has sentenced a 45-year-old man to 12 years in prison for grooming, sexual offences and assaults involving his foster daughters and his daughter’s friends, DR reported.

The case began after a friend of the man’s daughter reported that she had been groomed and subjected to indecent assault. Police examined the man’s digital equipment and found child sexual abuse material, including numerous images of his two foster children and two of his daughter’s friends.

The foster children were between two and four years old. One of the friends was under 12, and the other was aged 12 to 14.

The man argued that the images had been digitally manipulated and that the assaults had therefore not taken place. But the National Cyber Crime Centre and the National Forensic Centre found no evidence of image manipulation. Investigators also found no image-editing software on his computer or phone.

The court described his account as incoherent, inconsistent and not credible. The man has appealed the sentence.
