Storm prompts rescue call in Siglufjörður

The Strákar rescue team in Siglufjörður was called out shortly after 11 a.m. to assist during severe weather, mbl.is reported.

Jón Þór Víglundsson, a spokesperson for the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue, said the call was related to windows that had been blown out.

Rescue workers had also assisted in Hella and Vestmannaeyjar earlier in the morning as the storm moved across the country.
