The Faroe Islands’ net foreign assets exceeded 10 billion kroner in 2025, increasing by more than 5.4 billion kroner, KVF reports.
Foreign assets rose by just over 2.3 billion kroner, while foreign debt fell by just over 3.1 billion to 39.6 billion kroner, according to Hagstovan, the statistics office.
More than half of Faroese assets abroad are held in securities, but the increase in assets came from larger direct investments. All sectors increased their net foreign assets, the difference between assets and debt.
Nearly half of foreign debt stems from foreign investments in Faroese shares.
