Most Finns strongly favour fiscal adjustment focused on spending cuts, according to a survey commissioned by the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) and reported by Yle.
About one in five respondents would make the adjustment entirely through spending cuts, and a similar share would rely on cuts almost entirely. Another 15 per cent would use spending cuts as the main measure. About one in five favoured an equal mix of spending cuts and tax increases.
Taloustutkimus conducted the survey in early October, with just over 1,000 people responding. The margin of error is up to about three percentage points in either direction, at a 95 per cent confidence level.
