Doctors at a Danish hospital say Systematic’s medical records system is easy to use and the best they have worked with, SVT reports. Stockholm and Gotland opted not to choose it in last year’s billion-krona procurement.
The system has been used at the regional hospital in Hjørring, North Jutland, since 2022. Doctors there said the transition from the previous system was quick and required little training.
Kathrine Skaaning Laursen, a senior doctor who leads the hospital’s diagnostic centre, said the system was intuitive and made it easy to get an overview and navigate. She said crashes, a problem reported with the Cosmic system used in Sweden, were extremely rare.
Sören Dam Larsen, a senior doctor in respiratory medicine who has worked in Sweden and used several records systems, said he ranked Systematic’s system first and Cosmic second.
Doctors said they had not needed to change how they worked after the system was introduced. Marie Sahlberg, a senior doctor in internal medicine and geriatrics, said it was important to be able to access the system and get an overview quickly, whether at a desk or during rounds.
Systematic’s system also received the highest ratings in two Danish surveys. Around 1,800 healthcare workers took part in a 2018 survey, while a 2019 study by the Danish organisation Yngre Læger included 3,191 doctors. In both, users rated Systematic’s system more highly than other systems, including Cosmic.
SVT asked the Swedish company Cambio to comment on the procurement and the strengths of its system, but the company declined.
