Minister Inga Sæland receives Akureyri school’s gold owl

Education and Children’s Affairs Minister Inga Sæland received the gold owl, an honorary distinction from Menntaskólinn á Akureyri, a school in Akureyri, when she visited on Friday, mbl.is reported.

It is customary for ministers to receive the gold owl when they visit the school. School administrators and representatives of the Hugins student association welcomed Sæland and showed her around the school.

Students in class 1G also had the opportunity to ask the minister questions as part of a cultural literacy assignment. At the end of the visit, principal Karl Frímannsson presented Sæland with the gold owl.

Sæland also visited Síðuskóli and Verkmenntaskólinn á Akureyri during her trip.
