Air China extends Iceland flight schedule
Air China will continue operating three weekly flights between Beijing and Keflavík via Copenhagen after the airlines’ summer schedule takes effect at the end of March, mbl.is reports.
An Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft is currently scheduled to operate the route during the summer.
Air China has previously announced that the service will begin on October 26. Flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline will fly from Beijing to Copenhagen and then continue to Keflavík, with the same route operated in reverse on the return journey.
The latest change to the airline’s schedule confirms that the service will continue after the winter schedule ends in March.
Air China has fifth freedom rights on the Copenhagen to Keflavík leg, allowing it to sell tickets between Iceland and Denmark even though the flight begins and ends in China.
It will compete with Icelandair and SAS for passengers travelling between Keflavík and Copenhagen.
