Iceland moves Heilsuvera health services to Ísland.is

Heilsuvera’s logged-in health services are being transferred to Ísland.is, with the move expected to be completed in the coming weeks, mbl.is reports. Ísland.is will then become the main destination for the country’s digital healthcare services.

Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Daði Már Kristófersson announced the changes at the conference Tengjum ríkið, held under the theme “The future of Ísland.is.”

Heilsuvera.is itself will not close, according to Guðmundur Jóhannsson, communications director at Stafrænt Ísland. The website’s educational material on health, diseases and other healthcare matters will remain available. The change applies only to the section where users sign in with electronic identification.

The project has been in development for two years and is now in the final stages of testing. Once all services have been transferred, Heilsuvera’s personal pages will be closed.

The transfer has already begun. Under “My health” on Ísland.is, users can access information about referrals, waiting lists, blood type, vaccinations, organ donation and pharmaceutical co-payments.

Further services will be moved over the coming weeks and months, including appointment bookings, messages, prescriptions and prescription renewals, as well as information about pregnancy and treatments and various questionnaires.
