Hundreds queue as Yle opens Helsinki premises to visitors

Hundreds of people queued as Finnish public broadcaster Yle opened its premises in Helsinki to visitors on Saturday, Yle reported.

The Yle Open Day is being held at the broadcaster’s premises in Pasila from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The number of visitors allowed into the event area at one time is limited.

Visitors can meet the makers of Yle programmes and learn about the broadcaster’s work. The event is being held to mark Yle’s 100th anniversary.

At Yle’s Studio House, visitors can see performance outfits worn by artists known from the Eurovision Song Contest, including Pete Parkkonen, Linda Lampenius, Erika Vikman, Käärijä and The Rasmus singer Lauri Ylönen.

The event also features YleX morning presenters Sirliina “Sikke” Kantola and Womma Seppälä, who began hosting the programme about three weeks ago.
