Finns report rising satisfaction with social and healthcare services

Nearly 40 percent of Finns are satisfied or fairly satisfied with the social and healthcare services provided to them or their relatives by Finland’s wellbeing services counties, Yle reported, citing Uutissuomalainen.

The share of satisfied respondents has risen by four percentage points in a year. People aged 70 and over were the most satisfied.

Eastern Finland had the highest regional satisfaction level, at 45 percent. Liina-Kaisa Tynkkynen, a researcher at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, told Uutissuomalainen that this may be explained by the region’s older population and higher level of illness compared with the rest of the country.

One in four Finns said they were dissatisfied or fairly dissatisfied with the services. Their share has fallen by eight percentage points over the past year.

The survey, conducted by Iro Research, received responses from 1,000 Finns in August. Its margin of error was 3.1 percentage points in either direction.
