Herning Turist, a major supplier of city bus, local and regional services for Midttrafik, has entered restructuring proceedings, DR reports. Bus services will continue as planned.

Midttrafik said it would work with the restructuring administrator to ensure that services on the affected routes continue until they are transferred to a new company.

“The most important thing for us is that customers can continue to board the buses, regardless of which bus company operates them,” Midttrafik’s Lars Berg said in a statement.

Søren Volder of the Bech-Bruun law firm has been appointed restructuring administrator by the court. The purpose of restructuring is to restore a company’s finances so it can avoid bankruptcy and continue operating.

Herning Turist operates routes in Ringkøbing-Skjern, Odder, Skanderborg, Herning and Horsens. Volder said the restructuring should provide a sound framework for the continued operation of the affected Midttrafik routes.
