Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation is investigating a suspected aggravated computer break-in and has asked the Pirkanmaa District Court to detain a man born in 1979, Yle reports.

The detention hearing is scheduled for Friday in Tampere. Police suspect the offence took place between August 2025 and this autumn.

The man was arrested on Tuesday, and a criminal report concerning the suspected offence was filed on Monday. Police are seeking his detention on probable cause. The offence classification may change as the investigation progresses.

Police said the preliminary investigation is still at an early stage. “We are currently establishing what happened and other details necessary to clarify the case,” crime commissioner Aku Limnell of the National Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.

Police said they would provide more information when this is possible without compromising the investigation.
