New Argir church to cost 84 million kroner

The new church in Argir will cost 84 million kroner and is scheduled for completion in summer 2028, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Construction will officially begin on Saturday, when the first sods are cut. A ceremony will be held at 2pm on the plot by Støðlagøta and the Sandá river in Argir.
The project brings an end to years of debate, particularly over the church’s location by the Sandá. Fróði Olsen, chairman of the church council, said all arrangements were now in place for construction to begin.
