Photographer Árni Sæberg suffered a serious head injury while photographing an abandoned farm in Dýrafjörður this summer, mbl.is reports. He believes the ghost of the former housewife may have finally had enough of him.

Sæberg has photographed Arnarnes, the abandoned farm, for about 30 years. He returned recently to take more pictures when he struck his head hard against a low door frame, causing heavy bleeding.

For a while, the photographer feared he had taken his last picture of an abandoned farm. A kitchen roll, tonnatak and a Coke bottle then proved vital as he dealt with the injury.

Sæberg recounts the incident as a guest on mbl.is’s Dagmál programme, in connection with his 70th birthday.
