Child welfare funding could fall by another million kroner

Funding for child welfare institutions could be cut by a further one million kroner, beyond the two-million reduction proposed in a supplementary budget, KVF reports.

The Ministry of Education told the finance committee that an updated forecast shows the allocation can be reduced by an additional one million kroner this year.

The original 2026 budget allocation was 52 million 513,000 kroner. The ministry said three million kroner set aside for salaries would not be needed.
