Betri trygging made a profit of 74 million kroner after tax in the first half of the year, more than double the 34 million kroner recorded in the same period last year, according to Kringvarp Føroya.
The improved result was mainly due to fewer and smaller claims. The insurer recorded 500 fewer claims, while compensation payments fell by 74 million kroner, from 195 million kroner in the first half of last year to 121 million kroner this year.
Revenue was largely unchanged at 274 million kroner, compared with 279 million kroner a year earlier. The difference between insurance revenue and claims payments therefore rose to 153 million kroner, from 84 million kroner in the first half of last year.
