Reykjavík Mayor Hildur Björnsdóttir has unveiled the city’s redesigned neighbourhood watch signs, mbl.is reports.

The signs were presented at a ceremony outside Stararimi 10 in Grafarvogur, a neighbourhood in Reykjavík.

All city residents can apply to have a sign installed on their street for a fee of 11,098 Icelandic krónur.

Neighbourhood watch is a joint project between Reykjavík City and residents. It encourages people to work together as a preventive measure, including to help prevent burglaries.
