Russian frigate fires flares at Danish military helicopter

Russia’s ambassador will be summoned for talks after a Russian frigate fired two signal flares at a Danish military helicopter, DR reports.

The helicopter was on a routine flight to photograph the frigate in international waters off Gedser on Monday. One of the flares passed close to the helicopter, but neither the crew nor the aircraft was hit.

Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus called the incident serious and said Russia’s ambassador would be summoned for a meeting.
