Neighbour discovers elderly man drowned at Iisalmi cottage shore

An 87-year-old man was found drowned at the shore of his cottage in Iisalmi, Yle reports, citing the Eastern Finland Police Department.

Police said a neighbour noticed an overturned boat in the shallow water and the man floating beside it. The neighbour alerted the emergency response centre.

Police are investigating the case as a death-cause inquiry.
