Icelandic state buys stable and riding hall at Hólar
The Icelandic state has completed the purchase of Brúnastaðir, a stable and riding hall at Hólar in Hjaltadal, mbl.is reports, citing an announcement by the University of Iceland.
The university said the purchase was an important milestone for its horse studies department at Hólar, its students and the future of horse studies there. Brúnastaðir had been privately owned since it was built and has provided facilities for students to keep their horses while studying, as well as for practical teaching and training.
The university said ownership would give it greater scope to develop facilities that are an integral part of the learning environment. The transfer took place around the end of last month.
