Five apply for two Landsréttur judgeships

Five district court judges have applied for two positions as judges at Landsréttur, according to mbl.is, citing a notice from the Ministry of Justice.

One position is a permanent appointment, which will be made as soon as the committee assessing candidates for judicial office submits its recommendation to the minister.

The other is a temporary appointment. The successful candidate will take up the position as soon as the committee submits its recommendation and serve until February 28, 2029.

The applicants for both positions are Björn L. Bergsson, Halldóra Þorsteinsdóttir, Hulda Árnadóttir, Ragnheiður Snorradóttir and Sigríður Elsa Kjartansdóttir.

The ministry said the applications would be forwarded to the committee for consideration in the coming days.
