A 15-year-old girl from Södermanland has been taken into care while suspected of preparing to commit murder, SVT reports. Prosecutors say she had contact with Liam Nebel, who is suspected in the attack at Brinellskolan in Fagersta.

Police learned about the girl through digital traces linked to the suspected attacker. She was taken into care under LVU, Sweden’s law concerning the care of young people, at the end of August, days before her 15th birthday.

The girl denies any wrongdoing. Prosecutor Adolf Moberg Oleszkiewicz confirmed to Swedish Radio’s Ekot that she had communicated with Nebel, but said he could not comment on whether there was any other connection between them.

Several young people who had contact with Nebel have been taken into custody. A 13-year-old boy in Gothenburg is being investigated for aggravated unlawful threats, while a 16-year-old boy from Stockholm is suspected of aiding murder and aiding attempted murder.
