A police warning stopped an attempt to trick people into handing over money, KVF reports. A man claiming to be a police officer called people in the Faroe Islands on Wednesday and spoke Danish.
He said that, for 10,000 kroner, he could stop someone from taking out a loan in the name of the person he had called.
Three people reported the calls to police. Both the caller’s phone number and bank account number were Danish.
Police said that, as far as they know, nobody was deceived into paying money. The cases are now being investigated.
