Appeals Board will not challenge Morten Storm pension ruling

The Appeals Board will not appeal a district court ruling granting Morten Storm 82 per cent of a full disability pension, DR reports. Storm has previously said in media interviews and books that he worked as an agent for the Danish Security and Intelligence Service, PET.

Copenhagen City Court ruled on 31 August that it had been proven that Storm had collaborated with PET for four years. The court also found that he was entitled to 82 per cent of a full disability pension.

The case was heard as a civil case earlier this summer. Storm had argued that he was entitled to 92 per cent of a full disability pension, while the Appeals Board had sought to have the case dismissed.

Storm, 50, had previously been granted 67 per cent of a full disability pension because he had lived outside Denmark for much of his life. He did not have a permanent residence in Denmark for 90 per cent of the period between turning 15 and being granted disability pension.

“We have now reviewed the judgment and decided not to take the case to the High Court. The judgment does not change our practice in this area, as the district court’s decision is based on a specific assessment of the information in this case,” Cathrine Due Billing, deputy director of the Appeals Board, said in a statement.
