Another car struck by possible stone from motorway bridge

A 31 year old motorist had his windscreen shattered on Tuesday evening while driving beneath a small bridge on the Sydmotorvejen motorway in Køge, DR reports.

The driver believed that an object about the size of a tennis ball had hit the windscreen. Mid and West Zealand Police are investigating the incident as a possible stone throwing, but have not established what struck the car.

Four incidents in under two weeks

Over the weekend, another car was hit by a stone beneath a footbridge on the Køge Bugt Motorway. The female driver also estimated that the stone was about the size of a tennis ball.

The stone came from above, but the woman did not see anyone on the footbridge. Police nevertheless believe the incident involved a stone being thrown.

On August 30, a car was hit by a stone on the Amager Motorway near the exit for Avedøre Holme. Another car was hit on September 2.

West Copenhagen Police said on Friday that they are investigating those two incidents, in which cars were struck by possible stones thrown from a motorway bridge, as deliberate acts.
