Two men arrested after fight outside Reykjavík police station
Two men arrested after an assault in Reykjavík on Friday evening had been fighting each other, mbl.is reported. Neither was seriously injured, but one man pulled out a knife during the incident.
Sævar Guðmundsson, a chief superintendent, told mbl.is that the fight took place at Hlemmur, just outside the police station on Hverfisgata.
One of the men entered the station to report the incident and seek police assistance, but the other followed him inside. Both were then arrested at the station.
Sævar said the incident appeared to have been a confrontation between the two men.
A knife was pulled and used against one of them, causing a minor cut to his finger. The knife also cut his clothing.
The incident occurred early on Friday evening. Both men have since been released from custody.
