Two arrested after assault in Reykjavik

Two people were arrested after an alleged assault in central Reykjavik, mbl.is reports.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Police Station 1, which covers the city’s eastern and western districts, the downtown area and Seltjarnarnes. Police did not say whether the alleged victim was injured.

The arrests were recorded in the police log covering operations from 5pm on Friday to 5am on Saturday.

Two other drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. One driver was fined for not wearing a seat belt, while another was fined for driving without a licence.
