Falling disco ball injures four at Copenhagen company party

A man was seriously injured when a large disco ball fell on his head at a company party for several thousand people at Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, DR reported.

The man, who is around 40, was initially in critical condition but was later reported to be stable and out of danger, Copenhagen Police duty officer Mads Østermark said.

Three other people suffered minor injuries, police said.

Images from the scene showed a huge gold-coloured disco ball on the floor while police officers worked nearby.

A professional company had installed the disco ball, which was suspended by wires, Østermark said. It remains unclear what caused it to fall, and police are investigating the accident.

The part of the event venue where the accident happened was later closed.
