Stockholm Arlanda Airport set a record for international travel for the second consecutive month, Swedish public broadcaster SVT reported, citing statistics from airport operator Swedavia.
International passenger numbers rose by just over 3 per cent to 2.1 million in August. That was about 16,000 more than the previous record, set in August 2018.
More than 2.4 million passengers travelled through Arlanda in total during the month, an increase of 2 per cent from August last year. Domestic travel fell by 4 per cent to just over 324,000 passengers.
Across Swedavia’s 10 airports, more than 3.3 million passengers travelled in August, also an increase of 3 per cent compared with the same month in 2025.
Swedavia said the increase was driven by more visitors to Sweden and stronger demand within Sweden.
