Environmental activists halted Viking Line’s passenger ship Cinderella in Stockholm on Thursday, Yle reported. The vessel was due to depart for Finland at 4:30 p.m. local time.

Activists climbed the ship’s smokestack and attached a banner to it. The group Återställ Våtmarker claimed responsibility for the protest.

The movement said it was opposing peat extraction in Sweden by Neova, a Finnish state-owned company.

Viking Line’s communications department told the Finnish News Agency STT shortly after 6 p.m. that the ship would depart once the situation had calmed down.
