Social Democratic Alliance seeks donations for pro-yes movement

The Social Democratic Alliance is asking its members for donations to the Já til að Sjá pro-yes movement ahead of Saturday’s referendum on whether to begin negotiations on Iceland’s accession to the European Union, mbl.is reports.

The party office sent members an email saying that an optional payment request had been placed in their online bank accounts.

“We encourage everyone who has not already paid and is able to do so to pay the bill and support this important issue,” the email said.

Alliance members were also encouraged to visit the Sjá movement’s campaign office and attend its election-night event at the Icelandic Art Museum.
