Danish organisation Bevar Ukraine has sent its 600th truck carrying humanitarian aid to Ukraine, DR reports. The truck departed from Ringsted on Monday as part of a convoy of six vehicles heading to the war-affected country.
The trucks are carrying medical equipment and supplies for critical infrastructure. Fundraising manager Ole Egeblad said support from Danish individuals, companies and foundations remained strong.
One of the trucks is loaded with two generators that fill its entire cargo area. They will be used to power two medical clinics relatively close to the front line, Egeblad said.
The milestone was marked with visits from Søren Gade, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament and a member of Venstre, and Inger Støjberg, leader of the Denmark Democrats. Several political figures also helped load the trucks.
Ukrainians are expected to receive the various supplies within the next week.
