Police shoot 24-year-old man in Haderslev
Police shot a 24-year-old man in Haderslev on Sunday, hitting him in the leg, DR reported, citing the Independent Police Complaints Authority via Ritzau. He was taken to hospital and is not in life-threatening condition.
South and Sønderjylland Police said patrols pursued the man in the morning and forced him to stop. Warning shots and shots were fired by officers from Southeast Jutland Police during the pursuit and the subsequent arrest, the police said.
The Independent Police Complaints Authority was notified shortly after 10am and began investigating the incident.
Police said they were investigating several locations in Haderslev. Moltrup Landevej was closed from the town boundary to the junction with Norgesvej.
Ribevej was also closed in the eastbound direction from exit 68 on the E45 at Hammelev, as well as westbound at the junction of Ribe Landevej and Elmevej.
Police said they expected to remain in central Haderslev for several hours.
