Cyclist dies in collision with car in Lempäälä

A cyclist died in a collision with a car on Ruskontie in Lempäälä, Yle reports, citing the Central Finland Police Department.

Police received several reports of the crash shortly after 9.30am on Friday, August 21. The cyclist died at the scene.

According to police, the car was leaving a roundabout on Ruskontie to join the motorway when the cyclist was riding along a cycle and pedestrian path towards the crossing over the same junction.

The crossing used by the cyclist continues the cycle path, and vehicles turning towards the motorway are required to give way there.

Police are investigating the case as endangering traffic safety and causing death.
