The main hearing in the Reykholt case continues today, with three defendants due to testify before the South Iceland District Court, mbl.is reports.

Halldór Logi Sigurðsson and Níels Pálmar Benediktsson are scheduled to appear before noon. Along with Andri Már Mortensen Birgisson, they are accused of breaking into a Palestinian man’s home in Reykholt during the early hours of April 20, 2024, depriving him of his liberty and leaving the scene shortly before morning.

Sigurður Gunnar Ásgeirsson is due to testify in the afternoon. He is the father of Ingunn Rut and Andri Már’s father-in-law, and had rented the home in Reykholt to the alleged victim.

On the first day of the hearing yesterday, the court played an almost unprecedented amount of audio recordings of telephone calls from Andri Már’s phone. He is accused, together with five others, of aggravated assault, deprivation of liberty and robbery at the man’s home.
