Sunshine forecast for northern Iceland

Light, variable winds or sea breezes are expected across Iceland on Sunday, with sunny spells, mbl.is reports, citing a forecast discussion from the Icelandic Meteorological Office.

Cloudy conditions and light rain are forecast in the southeast. Temperatures will reach 10 to 17C during the day, with the warmest conditions in western Iceland.

On Monday, a low-pressure system will approach from the southeast, bringing easterly winds of 5 to 10 metres per second, increasing to 10 to 15 metres per second along the south coast. Northern Iceland is expected to be clear and sunny, while most of the south will be cloudy, with light showers in the southeast.

Winds will ease again on Tuesday. Bright conditions are expected in many areas, although the Eastfjords and southeast may see cloudy weather and a little rain.
