Stockholm District Court has dismissed the case against two men who had been held since July on probable cause of aggravated unlawful intelligence activity against Sweden, according to SVT.
The men, who are from China and Malaysia, both had Mandarin interpreters during detention hearings at the court. Both denied the allegations.
The preliminary investigation was discontinued in July, and the case has now been dismissed, court documents show.
Unlawful intelligence activity against Sweden involves providing a foreign power or an equivalent party with activities aimed at obtaining information that could harm Sweden’s security.
