A high-pressure system is strengthening to the north of Finland, leading to clearer weather across the country, reports Yle meteorologist Henriikka Heikinoja.

Monday brings sunny weather for most of Finland. However, in southwestern Finland, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected today, with the skies clearing up throughout the country by evening. Temperatures are hovering around 20 degrees Celsius, potentially slightly higher, with Lapland experiencing the warmest conditions. Meteorologists indicate that Monday will not reach heatwave levels.

The weather theme continues on Tuesday, with the southwestern region possibly experiencing some thunder and rainfall. Nonetheless, widespread temperatures will rise above 20 degrees Celsius, with readings in Lapland and the west possibly climbing to heatwave levels of at least 25.1 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the clear weather pattern is set to continue. While the south may see some isolated rain showers, the overall conditions will remain clear nationwide. Heikinoja notes that the mid-region and Lapland are looking particularly sunny.

Temperatures are still predicted to be around 20 degrees Celsius, and there are currently no indications of heatwave conditions for Wednesday at this stage of the week. For more detailed weather updates, visit Yle’s weather page.
