Motorcyclist hits elk on Highway 4 in Pyhäjärvi

A motorcyclist collided with an elk on Highway 4 in Pyhäjärvi, North Ostrobothnia, Yle reports.

Emergency services, police, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene, and a medical helicopter was also requested. The motorcyclist is being transported for further treatment.

The accident occurred on the Maaselkä–Hyvösenmäki stretch of the highway. One lane has been closed, and traffic is being diverted through the other.
