Public meeting on new building regulations in Tórshavn

A public meeting will be held Tuesday in Tórshavn to discuss proposed changes to special building regulations between J. Paturssonargøta and Landavegin, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The meeting takes place at 5 p.m. in Posthúskjallaranum. Tórshavn municipal council has approved a draft plan to create new special building regulations for the area, allowing increased construction of detached houses, terraced houses, semi-detached houses, and apartment buildings, as well as limited apartment construction on four specific plots.

The municipality has received an application to build apartments on the site of the former Restorff’s brewery, involving 24 units ranging from 28 to 125 square meters. Objections or proposed amendments must be submitted to the municipality by August 4.
