Danish beachgoers should head inland if thunder is heard, the national broadcaster DR reports, as scattered rain and thunderstorms are forecast for Sunday and Monday.

The Danish Meteorological Institute expects localized cloudbursts and hail, though the intensity remains uncertain. Anders Myrhøj, coastal rescue chief at TrygFonden Kystlivredning, advises packing up and leaving the beach at the first sign of thunder.

Swimming is discouraged during storms. While the risk of being struck is no higher in water than on land, a lightning strike can conduct electricity up to 100 meters through water, potentially causing fatal electric shock. Myrhøj warns that losing consciousness in water increases the risk of drowning.

General advice during thunderstorms includes avoiding open areas, towers, and sailing in masted boats. Seek shelter indoors and close doors and windows.
