Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences mistakenly sent acceptance notices to 46 applicants on Thursday, the institution confirmed to Yle.
The affected applicants had applied for the Business Technology programme in the spring joint application but were not granted a study place. The error occurred when messages intended for accepted students were sent to the wrong addresses. The messages did not contain personal data.
Saija Sokka, Haaga-Helia’s director of student affairs, acknowledged the mistake as a human error and stated that the university had immediately contacted all affected individuals to correct the information.
The university clarified that the acceptance decisions themselves were correct and that the national Opintopolku service, where results were published, contained no errors.
