Luxury glamping tents at this year’s Tønder Festival sold out in just 20 minutes, Danish broadcaster DR reports. An additional 70 tents were later put on sale and also sold out within days.

Line Krebs from Odsherred, attending for the third consecutive year, paid extra for a glamping tent. “It’s incredibly cozy. You get nice chairs and your own table, and you can enjoy breakfast with everyone else who’s glamping. The atmosphere itself helps create the authentic festival experience,” she said.

Festival director Kristina Lehmann Schjøtt admitted the speed of sales surprised her. “We probably expected it to take longer. It went really fast. We can see that audience needs have evolved incredibly over the past few years,” she told DR.

Lifestyle expert Julie Lahme suggested the trend reflects adults wanting to hold on to the festival experience without the discomfort. “We go to be reminded of how it was when we were 19, but we don’t want to be reminded of how hard it was to be 19,” she said.

Krebs agreed. “I can absolutely relate to that. The sense of community in sharing a musical experience is something special. I think it’s great that you can carry that with you as you get older,” she said.
