Kristersson’s approval falls as Andersson pulls ahead
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s approval rating has dropped in Verian’s June survey, while opposition leader Magdalena Andersson’s has risen, widening the gap between them to 14 percentage points.
According to the poll, 49% of respondents said they have a high or fairly high level of trust in Andersson, up significantly from previous measurements. Kristersson’s trust rating fell by two percentage points to 35%, marking the second consecutive decline. Per Söderpalm, Verian’s opinion analyst, noted that Kristersson had stood at 40% at the start of spring, representing a significant drop over the past six months.
The survey, conducted between 12–16 June, was based on around 1,000 online interviews with randomly selected individuals aged 18–84, recruited through Sifo’s panel. Respondents were asked: “How much trust do you have in each party leader?”
Verian’s data also shows one government-aligned party leader whose approval has increased, now surpassing Sweden Democrats’ Jimmie Åkesson in the trust rankings.
