Haaland’s favourite restaurant serves his go-to dish in Bryne

The Chinese restaurant Wen Hua House in Bryne has long served Erling Braut Haaland his favourite meal of fried chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce, reports Dagbladet.

Owner Hui Zhu Wang, who has run the restaurant for 27 years, said she has known Haaland since he was a child. “He used to come here with his whole family. He likes fried chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce and beef with pepper sauce,” she said.

Haaland last visited two weeks ago, ordering large quantities of chicken. Wang noted a recent surge in customers after Haaland mentioned the restaurant in interviews. “People come from all over the country. We sell kilos of chicken every day,” she said.

One visitor, Yasin Sadeghi, travelled from Oslo to try the “Haaland special.” After sampling the fried chicken and pepper beef, he gave it a perfect score: “I rate it 10 out of 10. This is the best Chinese restaurant I’ve been to.”

Wang, though not a football fan, follows Haaland’s career. “I like Haaland. He is very kind,” she said. Asked who she supports in the World Cup, she replied: “I cheer for Haaland and Norway.”
