Nearly 85 percent of Finland’s 304 monitored swimming sites meet the EU’s highest water quality standards, according to the European Commission’s annual bathing water report.

Only three sites—Pikkukoski in Helsinki, Mariebad in Maarianhamina, and Ahvensaari in Vaasa—were rated as poor.

Across Europe, 85 percent of assessed bathing waters were classified as excellent, with Greece and Cyprus recording the highest proportions of top-rated sites.
