Two low-pressure systems will cross Finland this weekend, bringing widespread rain and wind, according to Yle meteorologist Matti Huutonen.

A low-pressure front moving from south to north on Friday will bring rain to most of the country, clearing overnight. A new system arriving from the southeast on Saturday afternoon will bring further heavy showers, particularly in western Finland, where rainfall could reach 20โ€“40 millimetres.

The heaviest downpours are expected between Saturday evening and Sunday night, with rain spreading across nearly the entire country. Strong winds will accompany the second low-pressure system, with gusts of up to 19 metres per second forecast for the Bothnian Bay and Bothnian Sea.

Wind warnings will be in effect for Lapland and Ostrobothnia on Sunday. Unsettled conditions may persist into Monday, though forecasts remain uncertain.
